Highly regarded striker Alejo Veliz has officially joined Tottenham from Rosario Central. The 19-year-old moves to north London from Argentina and signs a six-year deal with the Lilywhites for a fee somewhere around £13m.
Tottenham weren’t the only team interested in signing him this summer; Roma and AC Milan were also eager to sign him to a contract and bring him to Italy. Veliz, who is regarded as one for the future, will stay with Tottenham this season and attempt to force his way into Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs lineup despite Rosario’s request for his return on loan.
Veliz has now joined the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Ashley Phillips, Micky van de Ven, Manor Solomon, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison who are on permanent deals for the club ahead of the 2023-24 season.
