According to a report on Monday from Ouest-France, 20-year-old Arsenal winger Marquinhos is expected to sign a season-long loan agreement with FC Nantes of Ligue 1.
The Brazilian is slated to be loaned out once more, this time to a team called The Canaries that plays in France. The Brazilian spent the final six months of the previous season on loan at Norwich in the Championship.
The Pierre Aristouy-led team was looking into the potential of bringing Marcus Vinicius Oliveira Alencar to La Beaujoire, Foot Mercato reported last week.
Ouest-France is aware that discussions over the 20-year-old’s loan to FC Nantes are nearing their conclusion.
Marquinhos made a €3.5m transfer to the Gunners from Sao Paulo last summer. The Brazilian U-20 international made six appearances for the North London team, scoring once against FC Zurich in the Europa League group stage. Following the €15m departure of winger Ludovic Blas to local rival Stade Rennais, Nantes were looking for attacking reinforcements. Nantes will be playing at home against Toulouse on Sunday to kick off the Ligue 1 2023-24 season.
