Abia Accountant General Denies Being Chased Out of Office

Njum Onyemenam, the accountant general for Abia State, has denied social media reports that enraged civil servants chased her out of her office. Onyemenam clarified that she was not present at her office when the news of the incident surfaced and labeled the reports as “absolute falsehood.”

Onyemenam explained that she had approached the entrance gate to the annex of the Government House area, where her office is located, and observed a small group attempting to access the gate but being prevented by security personnel. She decided to enter the compound through an alternative access point to avoid any potential confrontation.

She emphasized that she was not in the office during the alleged incident and chose to access her office through a different route to avoid any unnecessary commotion. Furthermore, she mentioned that salaries for the month of August had been paid to all civil servants in line with the directive of the state governor, Dr. Alex Otti.
