Thirteen individuals have tragically lost their lives in an assault carried out by unidentified gunmen in communities within Benue State.
According to residents of Imande Mbakange community and nearby areas in the Mbacher Council Ward of Kastina-Ala Local Government Area, the attack was perpetrated by local militias who have long instilled fear in the region. The group has been accused of engaging in armed robbery, kidnapping, and indiscriminate shootings during market days and funeral ceremonies.
In recent years, security forces in the area have managed to suppress the unlawful activities of these outlaws. However, the combined efforts of law enforcement could not prevent this latest attack.
