Onana conceded a goal from a distance having moved outside the box when his team was in possession of the ball.
A wrong pass from a United player caused a Lens attack that saw Lens’ Florian Sotoca lob the ball past Andre Onana, who unsuccessfully made a run back to the goal to prevent the ball from ending up in the back of the net.
The 27-year-old will want to perform better when the real action begins on August 14, when United host Wolves to open their Premier League season.
United signed Onana in place of David de Gea, who left the team when his contract expired.
Mason Mount also joined United from Chelsea this summer, and Rasmus Hojlund, an attacking player, joined from Atlanta.
As United continued their preparation for the upcoming season, Erik ten Hag fielded a potent lineup against Lens.
Among the players that got the start were Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Mount, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw.
