Arda Guler, a midfielder for Real Madrid, has undergone surgery on his right knee.
The Athletic reported that the procedure, which was led by famous Manuel Leyes and took place in Madrid, was a success.
The club decided that the 18-year-old will have surgery following multiple meetings when all the information and options were reviewed, according to a previous story in The Athletic.
Guler, who joined Madrid from Fenerbache, will be out for at least one month and hopes to return at the earliest possible opportunity following the September international break.
The adolescent has been unable to exercise with the first squad since July 21 after suffering a knee injury during training while on Madrid’s preseason tour of the United States. He did not play in any of his team’s four exhibition matches.
After opening the La Liga season with a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao last Saturday, Madrid’s next match is against Almeria on Saturday.
