Arsenal: Edu ‘progressing’ in £40m Romeo Lavia talks

Arsenal’s interest in Romeo Lavia is both real and substantial. Excellent communication with his camp; conversations have already taken place.

Since Chelsea is still interested, timing will be essential. Lavia is appreciated by Manchester United, but they are still stuck. City buy-back clause is only effective through 2024.

Arsenal may prioritise signing West Ham captain Declan Rice, while negotiations to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton are currently moving forward. Following the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League last season, the Belgian midfielder is expected to leave St. Mary’s Stadium.

Lavia left Manchester City for Southampton last summer and is currently being linked to moves to Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool. Rival teams are attempting to take advantage of City’s buy-back clause in the 19-year-old’s contract before the start of the following season, which goes into effect next July.

As they work to complete a deal for Rice this summer, the Gunners have scaled back their interest in Moises Caicedo of Brighton. In order to find the ideal partner for Enzo Fernandez, Mauricio Pochettino is now looking to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder. He is now expected to finalise a move to Chelsea.
