Arsenal have turned down a bid from Monaco for Folarin Balogun.
The 22-year-old, who impressed another Ligue 1 team, Reims, last season, has drawn interest from Monaco, who played Arsenal in a friendly last week.
Monaco’s initial offer, however, fell short of the gunner’s £50m valuation of American striker Balogun, who contributed to Reims’ league goals during his loan stint in France.
Inter Milan, who are still looking for a striker after failing to land Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham, are also interested in signing him.
Instead, he is moving on to Serie A rivals Atalanta.
The Champions League runners-up are seeking to locate a striker within their £35m budget, but Inter’s financial issues complicate their interest in Balogun.
