Tiemoué Bakayoko has departed from Chelsea Football Club as a free agent. The midfielder, who recently returned from a loan spell at AC Milan, has been informed that his contract will not be extended by the club. This decision comes as no surprise, as Chelsea had reportedly planned Bakayoko’s exit for quite some time.
Bakayoko’s time at Chelsea has been a rollercoaster ride. The Frenchman arrived at Stamford Bridge with high expectations in 2017, following an impressive stint at AS Monaco. However, he struggled to find his footing in the Premier League and failed to live up to the initial hype.
As a result, The Frenchman was loaned out to AC Milan for the 2018-2019 season, where he enjoyed a decent spell. Despite his relatively successful loan spell, it seems Chelsea’s new management did not see a future for him in their squad.
