Brentford and Bayern Munich have begun negotiations about a deal for goalkeeper David Raya, although neither party has yet to meet the other’s demands.
The Spain international is worth £40m to Brentford.
Raya, whose contract with Brentford has one year left, has declared that he is “ready to take the next step in his career” this summer.
The Bees are willing to have three great goalkeepers if the valuation of Raya isn’t met, having added Mark Flekken to the team.
Before Guglielmo Vicario and Andre Onana were signed by Tottenham and Manchester United, respectively, Raya was also on their wish lists this summer.
With Bayern looking to replace Yann Sommer who is negotiating a transfer to Inter Milan, Raya seems to be a good target for the German side.
Raya accompanied Brentford to the United States for the Premier League Summer Series, but Thomas Frank has favoured Flekken for the matches against Fulham and Brighton.
The 27-year-old made 161 appearances across all competitions after arriving at the Bees from Blackburn in the summer of 2019.
