Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Election Heist: Our Stand

The election that brought Bola Ahmed Tinubu to power on February 25, 2023, was riddled with corrupt practices, monumental rigging, voter suppression in opposition strongholds, voter intimidation, and harassment.
It is on record that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not follow the electoral guidelines for the conduct of the election in accordance with the 2023 electoral act, as amended.
On the INEC guidelines for the election, it states clearly, “The Presiding Officer shall transmit the election results electronically to the collation system and use the BVAS to take or scan a picture of the completed, signed, stamped, and dated Form EC8A for Pus or Form EC40G (PU) where elections are cancelled or did not hold”.
It further states, “The Presiding Officer shall upload the scanned copies of EC84 or EC40G (PU) to the INEC result viewing portal, IREV”. The Presiding Officer shall afterwards take the BVAS and original copy in a tamper-evident envelope to the ward collation officer at the ward collation centre.
The presidential election ran parallel to these guidelines, and results were not uploaded at the polling units. They were not transmitted to a dedicated server or reflected on the IREV in real-time. Weeks after the elections, INEC has not uploaded the complete results on their website.
This deliberate act by INEC allowed democratic tyrants like former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and other anti-democratic elements in Nigeria to write presidential election results at various collation centers, undermining our democratic process.
Parallel Facts will not use the prefixes “President” and “vice president” to address Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as a symbolic demonstration of our protest of this election heist. We will address them as “Bola Ahmed Tinubu” and “Kashim Shettima” pending when the nation’s Judiciary addresses all presidential election petitions at the Court of Appeals and, subsequently, the Supreme Court.
