In Igbo-Etche, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a 4-year-old toddler was fatally mauled by the Rottweiler owned by his parents.
After it was learned on Monday, July 17, that the victim’s father had let out his dogs to guard his children as he departed for work, the neighbourhood descended into mayhem.
According to reports, the father was informed by a phone call while at work that the dogs he had been responsible for watching had attacked and killed his 4-year-old son.

Reports also suggest that the deceased child’s father stated that the dogs were highly familiar with his children and that this familiarity gave him the confidence to free them in order to guard his children while he was at work.
Additionally, he noted that his four-year-old son, who was murdered by the rottweiler, would occasionally put them in their cages, so he would not have anticipated such a tragedy.
It was sad that the dog owner came home to discover his 4-year-old son had been brutally murdered by his pets. #Rottweiler
