In Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigerian teacher John Obot has surpassed the previous record of 124 hours for the longest marathon read-aloud by an individual.
The Akwa Ibom state-born teacher broke the Guinness world record set by Isakov of Turkey and is now setting a new record of 145 hours of non-stop reading aloud.
The exercise, which is currently taking place in Uyo, is scheduled to come to an end on Tuesday, when Mr. Obot will have fulfilled his 145-hour reading-aloud target.
