Breaking: PEPC Dismisses APM Petition on Shettima’s Double Nomination

The Presidential Election Petition Court has dismissed the petition of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), challenging the election of Bola Tinubu, on the grounds that his running mate, Mr Kashim Shettima, was a senatorial candidate and at the same time a vice presidential candidate.

Justice Haruna Tsamani ruled that the petition of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), based on the alleged multiple nomination of Kashim Shettima as vice presidential candidate of the APC, is a pre-election matter, and the Presidential Election Petition Court lacks jurisdiction to entertain it.

At the time of filling out this report, the presidential election petition court went on a 15-minute break and will resume to determine the petition of the Labour Party and Peter Obi.
