Brighton stuns United at Old Trafford

In a match that ended with heavy disgrace, Manchester United lost at home to Brighton and Hove Albion in a game that ended 3-1. The old Trafford “Fortress” as it is called was put in shambles after Seagulls put three goals past Andre Onana with Hannibal scoring the only goal for Manchester United.

Manchester United’s unbeaten home streak of 31 games was put to the spear in their 3-1 defect to the Seagulls.

Brighton has now beaten Manchester United in four consecutive Premier League games. They are the third to have done this, after Liverpool (2000 – 2002) and Manchester City (2013 – 2014). Brighton’s four games win against Manchester United is by an aggregate score-line of 10-3.

According to Opta, Manchester United have now lost at least three of their opening matches in a premier league campaign for the first time. A comment from Paul Merson on Manchester United says “Hiding behind the blazers the Glazers every time there is a defect needs to stop”.

Danny Welbeck, Pascal Grob, and Joao Pedro were the scorers for Brighton and Hove Albion in their victory at the Trafford. Brighton is now placed 4th on the EPL Table, gathering 12 points from five Games. Manchester United drops to 12th following their defect. They now have 6 points in five EPL games.

Manchester United will play Bundesliga’s Giant Bayern Munich on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena as they open their Champions League tournament.
