Bruno Fernándes is New Manchester United Captain

According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, Bruno Fernandes will be new Manchester United captain.

The Portuguese who has reportedly rejected offers from Saudi Arabia about a month ago, is said to become the leader of the team when the season starts proper.

The club’s former captain Harry Maguire has been relieved of his position by Eric ten Hag. The defender who made €87m move from Leicester City to Manchester United in 2019 has been the club’s captain since 2020.

Following his not so good outing last season, only managing 16 appearances and starting just 8 games for the club, the former captain has been criticized by fans for not being at the top of his game, and this has partly influenced his relinquishing of his leadership role for the club.

Fernándes on the other hand has managed to be a huge impact for the club, appearing 37 times in which, he started in all. The Portuguese scored 8 league goals last season and assisted the same number.

The player will be a good choice to shoulder the leadership responsibilities of the club on and off the pitch as he has shown to possess such qualities.
