
The legendary rapper Busta Rhymes took to Twitter to praise the Nigerian superstar Burna Boy for his groundbreaking performance at the Citi Field Stadium in New York City on July 8, 2023.
Burna Boy became the first African artist to sell out the entire 41,000-capacity venue, making history and showcasing the global appeal of Afrobeats music.
Busta Rhymes, who has collaborated with the African Gaint on the remix of his hit song “Ye”, tweeted: “Congrats to the King @burnaboy on such an incredible journey that has led up to be the 1st African Artist to sell out the Entire @CitiField Stadium in NYC!! Let’s keep it Going and Keep it Growing.”

Burna Boy’s Citi Field concert was part of his “Twice As Tall” world tour, which kicked off in June 2023 and will continue until December 2023. The tour is named after his Grammy-winning album “Twice As Tall”, which was released in August 2020 and featured guest appearances from Chris Martin, Stormzy, Youssou N’Dour, and Naughty by Nature.

The Citi Field concert was a spectacular show that featured pyrotechnics, dancers, a live band, and a stunning wardrobe designed by Robert Wun. He performed songs from his last four albums: “Outside”, “African Giant”, “Twice As Tall”, and “Love Damini”. He also surprised the audience by bringing out British rapper Dave to perform their smash hit “Location” for the first time ever in the USA.
