Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and members of his delegation were forced to stay in India for another day after his official aircraft developed a technical snag on Sunday, September 10, 2023. The aircraft was identified as an Airbus and reportedly faced similar issues in the past .
According to the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi, the Canadian Air Force, which operates the plane, had informed the delegation that it “was experiencing technical difficulties” and that “these issues are not fixable overnight, our delegation will be staying in India until alternative arrangements are made”.
It is not clear when the Canadian delegation will be able to return home. The G20 summit concluded with a statement on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that was less harsh than Trudeau had hoped.
