Chelsea’s young striker David Datro Fofana has completed a move to German side Union Berlin on a loan deal with no option to buy. The striker will continue his development by earning enough time on first-team duty with his new German side.
Following his move to Chelsea from Molde after scoring 22 Goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for Molde in 2022, which helped the Norwegian side record a league and cup double, the striker had no favor in Chelsea’s Graham Potter’s first team choice.
The arrival of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in Chelsea’s attack has caused game-time uncertainty in the first team next season, hence the 20-year-old Ivorian striker’s move to Union Berlin.
Chelsea’s new coach, Pochettino, has insisted that the striker is one for the future and has appreciated his talent but can’t guarantee him enough game time in his Team next season. The striker will play in the UEFA Champions League with Union Berlin, and his move to the German side seems favorable for the striker.
