Clement Lenglet is reportedly close to joining Saudi side Al-Nassr.
Over the past few weeks, Barcelona have been working on sales, with a number of players potentially leaving the team. In addition to Ousmane Dembele joining Paris Saint-Germain, Franck Kessie appears to be leaving as well.
It’s possible that Clement Lenglet will leave Barcelona before Dembele and Kessie do. It is reported that the French defender is close to joining Al-Nassr, who just signed Sadio Mane and features Christiano Ronaldo among its members.
Lenglet has been up for sale for the majority of the summer in Barcelona. Despite being a part of the team’s preseason tour in the United States, Xavi Hernandez does not have him in his plans for the upcoming campaign.
Lenglet was on loan to Tottenham Hotspur last season, and the club had been hoping to buy him permanently. However, it now appears that Lenglet will be the latest player to transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Barcelona do not expect to earn much money for Lenglet, but they will be able to remove his pay from the books, which is essential for registering their current first-team players.
