Rio Ferdinand, who used to play for Manchester United and England, said that Cristiano Ronaldo should have won the Ballon d’Or in 2018.
Ronaldo’s name was not on the list of 30 candidates for the Ballon d’Or in 2023.
In an interview with well-known YouTuber IShowSpeed, Ferdinand claimed that Ronaldo should have won the 2018 competition, which Croatian midfielder Luka Modric ultimately won.
When asked which of Messi and Ronaldo has more Ballon d’Ors, Ferdinand said Messi.
“Seven against five,” he said. The Ballon d’Or should have gone to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Modric won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 after helping Real Madrid win the Champions League and being a key part of the Croatian team that came in second at the 2018 World Cup.
