Elegushi royal family denies link to Sam Larry, calls for probe

The Elegushi royal family of Eti-Osa, Lagos State, has denied any connection to Sam Larry, a music promoter who is allegedly involved in the previous attack of the popular singer Mohbad. The family also expressed their sympathy to Mohbad’s family and friends and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the family said that Sam Larry is not a member of their family and does not work for them in any capacity. They said that he only visits the palace to pay homage to the king like other celebrities and public figures. They urged the media to be mindful of the sensitivity of the issue and refrain from spreading falsehood that may jeopardize the investigation.

The statement came after videos of Sam Larry leading thugs to beat up Mohbad emerged online. The videos showed Sam Larry accusing Mohbad of disrespecting him and his boss, the king of Elegushi. The videos also showed Mohbad pleading for his life and denying any wrongdoing.

Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, was a rising star in the Nigerian music industry. He was known for his hit songs such as “Koma Jensun”, “Ponmo Sweet” and “Sorry”. He was signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label and had collaborated with other artists such as Zinoleesky, Lil Kesh and Rexxie.

The death of Mohbad has sparked outrage and grief among his fans and colleagues. Many have taken to social media to condemn Sam Larry and demand justice for Mohbad.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the matter and have arrested some suspects. They have also appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with them in their investigation.
