Barcelona will save €20m in Financial Fair Play fees from the sale of Ousmane Dembele.
The transfer saga involving Ousmane Dembele, which began last weekend, is anticipated to be resolved in the coming weeks as the 26-year-old gets closer to joining Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG will pay €50m to Barcelona as part of the agreement, but they won’t keep the entire sum; instead, a sum to be determined will go to Dembele and his agency.
Dembele’s sale, according to Esport3, will enable Barca to allocate €20m towards Financial Fair Play, which is crucial considering their financial difficulties.
Barcelona should be able to reinvest the money from the sale of Dembele in the transfer market. They are trying to bring in a new right-back, and Joao Cancelo seems to be the player they are most interested in.
Dembele’s sale does, however, come at a favourable moment, as it should also allow Barcelona to register their new recruits ahead of the start of the upcoming LaLiga season. Nevertheless, Barca will be quite sad to have lost Dembele.
