The Ogun State government and former governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Daniel, have disagreed over the demolition of a plaza belonging to the former governor’s wife, with the Senator describing as an executive recklessness.
The plaza, named DATKEM Plaza, was demolished by agents of the Ogun State government in Ijebu Ode. According to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Olayiwola Abiodun, the structure violated the state’s physical planning laws.
DATKEM Plaza is an illegal structure without an approved plan. The building was erected in Ijebu Ode without an approved plan and was demolished over the weekend .
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State authorized the demolition of DATKEM Plaza, a property owned by Olufunke Daniel, the wife of former governor Gbenga Daniel. The report states that the building was demolished because it contravened the state’s physical planning laws.
