Google Empowers Users to Delete Private Data Online

Google has added new tools to help users keep their personal information, privacy, and internet safety in their own hands.

The tech giant is also making it easier to find parenting controls right in Search. Users can do this by searching for something like “Google parental controls” or “Google family link,” which will bring up a box with information on how to change their parental controls.

For now, these tools are only available in the U.S. and in English, but the tech giant says it is trying to make them available in other languages and countries around the world.

In a blog post announcing the tool, the tech giant ‘s vice president Danielle Romain said, “In the next few days, we’ll be releasing a new monitor that will tell you if web results with your contact information are showing up on Search.

Then, you can quickly ask Google to take down those results right from the tool. We’ll also let you know when new search results from the web show up in Search that include your contact information. This will give you more peace of mind.”

“We’re also making it easier to find parental options right in Search. Just type in something like “Google parental controls” or “Google family link,” and you’ll see a box with information on how to handle your parental controls. Users can access this tool by clicking on their Google account photo and choosing “Results about you,” or by going to the “Results about you” page.
