The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, in his recent social media post, reinforced his total commitment to his country, Nigeria. He posted, “It’s ours to build and develop Nigeria,” and asked Nigerians to take control of their nation.
Mr. Peter Obi made this assertion while reacting to the release of a new book, “Hands Off Africa”, written by Pope Francis and prefaced by Nigerian literary ambassador and global author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
“I have consistently called on Nigerians to take back their country because only Nigerians can save Nigeria.
“This is the only nation that we have, and it is ours to build and develop.
“When I rejected the dual citizenship of other countries years ago, I was conscious that Nigeria as the only country that I have will need my full attention and commitment in the years to come,” Peter Obi wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.
Mr. Peter Obi also expressed his profound gratitude to the Pope for such a timely book, which, he said, “touches on a very critical point of discontinuing the exploitation of Africa by the Western powers”.
