Jude Bellingham to the Rescue as Real Madrid Maintain Winning Streak

Even though they had to wait until Jude Bellingham’s 95th minute goal to defeat Getafe, Real Madrid has maintained its perfect start to the season.

From the group that overcame Celta Vigo the previous Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti made two adjustments. Federico Valverde was replaced by Luka Modric, while Vinicius Junior, who will be out for the next three weeks with an injury, was replaced by Joselu Mato.

Against their local rivals, Getafe had a fantastic start. Fran Garcia’s weak pass was intercepted by Borja Mayoral, who then went around Kepa Arrizabalaga and scored into an empty net against his previous team.

Soon after, Carles Alena was found to have fouled Jude Bellingham, leading Real Madrid to believe they should have been awarded a penalty. The decision was reversed after a VAR review, and Getafe played out the rest of the half.

Unfortunately, less than two minutes into the second half, they gave up. Six yards away, Joselu received the ball, and he scored beyond David Soria to tie the score. He accomplished this feat while playing for Real Madrid for the second time.

Real Madrid appeared to be out of chances, but Jude Bellingham’s goal in the fifth minute of extra time at the end of the second half gave the hosts the victory. The Englishman keeps up his extraordinary form of scoring in every game thus far, and they maintain their impressive 100% record.
