The former Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli has signed a deal with Juventus Football Club as their new sporting director.
Giuntoli who moved to Napoli from Carpi in 2015 has since built the team by making eclectic sporting decisions to improve the club. His smart decisions paid off over the years with Napoli winning the Italian Cup in the 2019/2020 season and the Serie A title last season after a long spell of not winning the most prestigious Italian trophy since Maradona.
Following the resignation of Juventus board of directors, and the ban that followed, there is reason for the club to establish a new administration that will run the affairs of the club. The 16 months ban of Juventus former sporting director, Federico Cherubini, has caused the club to look in the way of a capable replacement for the club in this very trying times.
Giuntoli is no doubt fitting to be a capable replacement for the Bianconeri.
The 51 years old Florence born started his career as a Sports Director with Spezia, with which he took the then Serie C side to Serie B, he then moved to Carpi where in five seasons he achieved four promotions. He spent six successful years with Carpi before moving to Naples in 2015, a promotion that is nothing short of what he deserved at the time considering his excellent results with smaller clubs.
A new chapter begins with Cristiano Giuntoli, his journey continues with the most successful Serie A side, and despite the club’s financial situation, Giuntoli will hope to have a successful time at Turin.
