According to Kanu, all members of the coaching staff were instructed to reapply for their positions within the next 48 hours, except for the coach. Kanu expressed his satisfaction with Finidi’s performance and affirmed his continued presence at the club, citing his successful guidance of Enyimba to their historic ninth NPL title less than a month ago.

Finidi, a former Nigerian international and Kanu’s former teammate at Ajax Amsterdam has been at the helm of Enyimba for two seasons, he also led Enyimba to win her ninth league title a record the currently hold in the Nigerian league.

With Kanu assuming the role of chairman, the Abia State Government aims to revitalize the club and maintain its recent success under Finidi’s leadership.
