According to local news outlet ABC 7 Chicago, the fatal shooting occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Saturday (June 17) in Chicago’s West Side on the 100 block of South Homan Avenue. Lil Tuda suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Another 14-year-old boy who was present at the scene was also shot multiple times and was immediately transported to the same hospital. The second victim remains in critical condition.

Community activist Andrew Holmes expressed his sorrow over the incident, highlighting the tragic circumstances surrounding the shooting. The incident took place during Father’s Day weekend and the Juneteenth holiday, further adding to the profound sense of loss.

Holmes shared his sentiments, stating, “I’m not happy at all. Father’s Day, Juneteenth, celebrating for what? Until we can stop this gun violence, Black-on-Black crime, and get these individuals in custody, then talk to me. But, we got two babies, two babies here.”
