Manchester United Expected to Announce Decision on Greenwood’s Future

Mason Greenwood hasn’t appeared on the pitch for Manchester United since January 2022, and the team is expected to announce its decision over his future in the next few days.

In order to determine Mason Greenwood’s future, Manchester United is gathering information from his workouts.

Greenwood, 21, has been photographed and recorded working out in public parks under the supervision of a former United youth coach who has also worked with Kobbie Mainoo and Dan Gore.

Before the start of the season, United is expected to announce its decision over Greenwood’s future following a six-month probe. On Monday, United plays its opening match against Wolves.

On February 2, Greater Manchester Police declared that Greenwood was no longer subject to legal action. Charges against Greenwood included attempted rape, using coercive or controlling behaviours, and assault.

United has conducted its own investigations as they “determine the next steps” in light of the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision to drop all charges against Greenwood.

According to reports, Erik ten Hag is hesitant to sell Greenwood, so United are considering the option of loaning the player out.

Greenwood last appeared for United on January 22, 2022, in the 1-0 victory over West Ham. He is under contract with the team until 2025, with the option of another year.

Since the allegations were dropped, the forward has not visited United’s Carrington training facility again.

Greenwood has made 129 appearances for United and has 35 goals to his credit. In September 2020, he faced Iceland on his England debut.
