Stella Okotete Senate Nominee Report Forgery

Ministerial Nominees: Stella Okotete Takes Bow As Senate Ignores Litany of Petitions Against Her

Senate on Tuesday screened Hon Stella Okotete for ministerial appointment in Bola Tinubu’s administration despite the multiple allegations raised against her by concerned Nigerians.

Parallel Facts reports that besides allegations of forgery and incompetence made against Okotete, ethnic groups in Delta South had faulted her nomination and Senate screening as a breach of the state character given that she is from the same Ughelli North LGA as the APC governorship candidate and state chairman, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Omeni Sobotie, respectively.

However, the Senate on Tuesday, screened the embattled Delta nominee alongside eight others while ignoring the petitions against her.

Those screened included ex-governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi); Wale Edun, Uche Nnaji, Adebayo Adelabu, Ekperikpe Ekpo, Hannatu Musawa, and Musa Dangiwa.

That leaves five remaining nominees, including presidential spokesman Dele Alake; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lateef Fagbemi; Muhammad Idris, Ali Pate, and Doris Uzoka.

The Senate adjourned till today, Wednesday, August 2, to screen the others.
