Niclas Füllkrug Signs for Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund has officially signed Niclas Fullkrug from Werder Bremen on a three year deal as a permanent transfer deal. The Two German clubs agreed on a transfer fee of 15m deal and all parties have successfully finalized the deal. The striker is now a Borussia Dortmund player after the club officially announced him as their new number 14 shirt owner.

Niclas Fullkrull has played 127 matches in the Bundesliga in the course of his career in Germany and has scored 44 goals in this time frame. As a Werder Bremen player, he has scored a total of 28 goals and in 2022/23, he scored the most goals of the season with 16 goals to his name. With his total of 44 goals in his Bundesliga career so far, he is presently placed 17th on the active scoring chart.
The 30 year old striker has also played nine games for his national side Germany. He has scored a total of seven goals these games. He was the joint top scorer in 2022/23 alongside Christopher Nkunku last season.

Talking about Fullkrug’s signing, Dortmund sporting director Sebastian kehl says “Niclas has proven his scoring prowess over the years and won the goal scoring title last season. Thanks to strong performances, he is justifiably an important pillar in the national team’s forward. He added by saying “Niclas is a playmaking attacker, very strong with his head, physically impressive, convincing in one-on-one duels and unpleasant for his opponents to face. With all these skills, he embodies the profiles we were looking for.

Talking on Dortmund’s website, Fullkrug says “I was very happy about the offer because the move to this club is exactly what I wanted. At BVB, I have the chance to develop as a player and new experiences. I’m really excited about the challenges ahead and I want to be as successful as possible with this team. I can hardly wait to experience the stadium with its extraordinary fans as a BVB pro”.
