Pastor Poju Comes Under Intense Criticism, Embarks On Massive Blocking On Twitter over equating the state of the nation to a football team.

Over the weekend, Nigeria’s Pentecostal Pastor and Senior Pastor of the Covenant Nation Church came under heavy criticism from Nigerians over his equating the sham Presidential Elections conducted by INEC and the resultant effect on the state of the nation to a football team.

Pastor Poju in his tweet, said, “For everyone who loves Nigeria, you want the country to win regardless of “who is playing.” Just like you want your favourite team to win the trophy even if the coach didn’t field your preferred players, when your team scores you are happy. Let’s stay focused it’s all about the country winning.”

Inadvertently, Nigerians started calling him out for what they perceived to be hypocrisy on the part of the clergyman. In the wake of the EU Reports that exposed the sham of elections conducted by Yakubu Mahmood’s INEC and the outcries across various quarters across the country, Pastor Poju has said nothing to that effect, instead he chose to gaslight Nigerians into accepting the fraudulent result.

One Oluwa Rotimi with the Twitter handle @Timiglow said, “Seriously, I’m not surprised. We will be seeing this type of tweets from “God of men or Men of God” often. I will leave this for you, Pastor according to the Bible we all read. “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute,” (Psalm 82:3). Another one: Jesus said, “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.” (Luke 18:7-8) When injustice prevail, everyone suffered!”

Another Twitter user, Jimmy Hulk, with the handle @diisa2020, while replying to Pastor Poju said, “This is shameful coming from a god of man. The election period has really opened and exposed a lot of people sha. It is really sad! Deep down inside of you, you know the truth but you just want to be seen as a part of those in support so they can’t come after you. God will display the exact miracle most of you preach about to you very soon.”

LVTHAGOD, with the Twitter handle @LVHDLVTF said, “Basically, Pastor Poju is saying the end justifies the means and we should support the outcome regardless of how it became. So, harken to the words of the pastor and do whatever it takes regardless of whose ox is gored!”

Meanwhile, in reaction to the barrage of admonishments Pastor Poju got from his hypocritical tweet, instead of peddling down, he embarked on a blocking spree.

He began blocking Nigerians from all angles, including his Church members. Creme de La Creme @Eegor_ish said, “My Pastor has blocked me. I still disagree with his tweet tho. There is nobody that does not want Nigeria to succeed. We all know what went down during the elections. Telling people to accept that fraudulent election and put Nigeria first is gaslighting.”

What is evident is that gone are the days when Nigerians sat down and trusted the words of so-called Men of God who wouldn’t speak truth to power but always justify the evil that has kept the country in its present state.

The influence of people like Pastor Poju, who have no words to say to the Federal Government while Nigerians are dying across the nation, is fast eroding. Nigerians are beginning to see their true enemies. You cannot be telling Nigerians to move on from the worst-conducted elections in our history, where 74 people were killed and hundreds were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and expect Nigerians to take you seriously.

The Influential end is here for the reign of the god of Men like Pastor Poju and his likes.
