Pastors Meet with CP on Killings in Kaduna

The needless killings of pastors and the destruction of churches in Kaduna State by bandits were discussed in the meeting between pastors and the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Kaduna yesterday.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, Rev. Joseph Hayab, said in the meeting, as reported by Vanguard, that 23 pastors have been killed by bandits in the last 4 years across the state.

The report also stated that 200 churches across the state have been shut down by the killers.

The chairman voiced his displeasure at the horrific murders of pastors in the state. He spoke about a pastor who was assassinated on August 8, 2023, he stated the pastor had called in to report that 215 Christians had been kidnapped by bandits in Birnin Gwani forest.

Going through a time of utmost despair and helplessness, the Christian community in the state remains at the mercy of the bandits, and the chairman, along with other pastors, called on the CP to look into the issue.

The CP mentioned in his remark that the responsibility of security lies not only with the police but with individuals as well, imploring the people to always provide information for the police to work with.
