The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi visits the IDP camp of the people of Mangu Local government, Plateau State, Nigeria.
The former Anambra state governor who turned 62 today July 19, on his Twitter page days ago urged well-meaning Nigerians who had reached out to him on how to celebrate his birthday to look around them and extend whatever gift they hope to give to him to the people who need it.
He wrote on his Twitter page, “Let me humbly and respectfully appeal to all those who desire to celebrate me with any kind of gifts, to look around them and extend such gifts to the people in need, especially in these difficult times.”

He urges them to visit hospitals, orphanages, and homes for the aged and people with disabilities, and offer them generous gifts. They can also visit schools of basic studies in remote areas and support them with the basic amenities they need.
“Those who wish to do more can visit various IDP camps in different parts of the country. I intend to do the same thing. Aside from sharing my time and resources with the less fortunate people around me, I plan to raise money for schools, hospitals, etc.”
The humble and generous celebrant known to always demonstrate the character of a leader who puts the people’s need ahead of himself has always visited and showed care to people in troubled situations, and on his birthday today, he found it necessary to reach out to the people of Mangu community.
H.E. Peter Obi has always hammered on the need to fix the country and create an enabling environment where people can thrive. His humility and clear vision and passion for a better country have led him to run for the office of the president of Nigeria in the recent February 25 election.
The outcome of the election has been challenged in the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, where Peter Obi and Labour Party took the opposing Party and INEC to court and presented several evidences to the court on grounds of election malpractice and other irregularities that had orchestrated the emergence of another government.
He has shown the need for transparency and leading by example, even putting it out there to anyone who doubts his integrity to go and verify. This bold integrity that has never been seen before in the history of the country has led many Nigerians to see him as someone fit to be the president of the country.
