On Sunday, unidentified assailants kidnapped Chinedu Nwangwu, a well-known native doctor in Anambra State who goes by the moniker “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki.” Nwangwu, who hails from Oba in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, was kidnapped from his hotel, Triple P Hotel, late on Sunday evening.
During the attack, two of Nwangwu’s security guards were shot dead before he was taken away by the kidnappers. As of now, his whereabouts remain unknown. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and sparked concern among his followers and fans.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the kidnapping, stating that it occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. The police have launched an investigation and are actively pursuing the kidnappers in an effort to secure Nwangwu’s safe release.
Controversy surrounds the situation, with conflicting reports emerging about Nwangwu’s status. Some of his fans claimed on social media that he had been released, but the police spokesperson, Ikenga, denied having any information on his release at the time of reporting.
The abduction of the popular native doctor has raised alarm in the region, and authorities are working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure Nwangwu’s safe return to his family and community.
