A pro-democracy organization by the name of NASSWatch sent a letter to the Nigerian Senate leadership that ParallelFacts Media has exclusively obtained. The Senate has confirmed it has received the letter, and a copy has been released to the media.
NASSWatch is a Pro-Democracy group that seeks to deepen citizens’ participation in policy formulation and law-making while simultaneously holding the legislative arm of government accountable.
In the aftermath of the 2023 General Elections and against the backdrop of the huge disappointment of the legislative arm since the return to democracy in 1999, the conveners of NASSWatch decided that there must be citizenship engagement with the National Assembly to ensure quality representation from lawmakers.
