Mbappe has been given a maximum of 10 days by CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi to decide whether to stay with PSG or leave the team this summer for a fee. Mbappe has not chosen one of those paths and, according to Relevo, has informed club manager Luis Enrique of his intention to stay with the team this year.
Mbappe’s mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, will meet with PSG in the coming days, as PSG is adamant they won’t lose Mbappe for nothing.
However, if Mbappe is just interested in moving to Real Madrid, which appears to be the case, PSG will be fairly helpless to prevent it. A deal to lure Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer will see both parties lose more money than the alternative, although Mbappe can join Los Blancos for free next year.
Both parties take a tiny chance that the other won’t agree to a deal for the following season, but this appears extremely unlikely. Mbappe has complete control of the situation, putting PSG in a precarious position to achieve one of their goals.
