Renato Sanches will be joining AS Roma on a season-long loan from PSG, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Giallarossi will pay €1m for the loan agreement, which also contains a €15m possible buy clause.
For a while now, José Mourinho has been eager to welcome his countryman to the Stadio Olimpico. Sanches will sign for the Italian capital side on a temporary basis after a protracted search by the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager.
In the Portuguese midfielder’s loan agreement, the buy option is initially voluntary, but if he appears in 60% of Roma’s games throughout the season, the contract will automatically become permanent. The former Lille and Bayern Munich midfielder just joined PSG last summer for a cost of €15m.
Sanches appeared in 27 games for Les Parisiens last year and netted two goals. Leandro Parades, a PSG colleague of the former Swansea loanee, is also expected to sign with the Giallorossi.
