The Italian national team’s head coach, Roberto Mancini, has resigned.
Mancini who won Euro 2020 with the Azzurri has resigned ten months before the 2024 Euros, agreeing with the Italian Federation to part ways.
The Italian Federation announced in a statement that it has taken note of the resignation of Roberto Mancini.
“The Italian Giuoco Soccer Federation informs that it has taken note of the resignation of Roberto Mancini as Technical Commissioner of the Italian National Team, received yesterday late in the evening.
It concludes, therefore, a significant page in the history of the Blues, which began in May 2018 and ended with the Finals of the Nations League 2023; in the middle, the victory at Euro 2020, a triumph gained by a group in which all the individuals knew how to become a team.
Taking into account the important and imminent commitments for UEFA Euro 2024 qualifications (10 and 12 September with Northern Macedonia and Ukraine), the FIGC will announce in the coming days the name of the new CT of the National Team.”
