Sergino Dest, a defender for Barcelona, might leave the team this summer.
Dest joined Catalonia from Ajax in 2020 and quickly established himself as Ronald Koeman’s first choice at right defender.
Dest’s position was altered by Xavi’s arrival in 2021, though, as he was promoted to squad player under the former Spain international before beginning the 2022-23 season on loan with AC Milan.
Dest failed to maintain a consistent position in Italy after AC Milan decided against a permanent transfer; in June, he returned to Barcelona.
Although the USA international has previously expressed his desire to compete for a spot in Xavi’s plans for the season, his preseason performance has reignited rumours about his future.
According to reports from The Athletic, Barcelona has reportedly received offers from Italian clubs in response to their €11m asking price, with another loan for the 22-year-old player being a possibility by the end of August.
