Super Falcons Dominate in Africa as FIFA Releases Women’s World Rankings

FIFA releases its recent list of women’s national team rankings as the Super Falcons of Nigeria continue to dominate in Africa.

The number one team in Africa has now moved 94.14 points up, making the 11-time champions of the African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) rank 32nd among the world’s top international women’s teams.

South Africa is ranked 45th in the world, making them come in 2nd in Africa according to the team valuation orders by the top football governing body.

Cameroon sits third in Africa and 56th in the world, with Morocco and Ghana taking the fourth and fifth positions in Africa as they are ranked 58th and 59th in the world, respectively.

The defending champions, Spain, jump to second place, 17.3 points behind Sweden, who sits at the top. The United States Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) dropped to third place after a disappointing performance at the most recent World Cup, with England and France rounding out the top five.
