Following her success as a student-athlete at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and her mouth-watering achievements post-UTEP, Nigerian World Champion Tobi Amusan has earned her spot in the USA 2023 Hall of Fame class.
The Nigerian record-breaker attended UTEP and was a distinct athlete in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Her successes were referenced and highlighted by multiple school records, with the most notable being the 100-meter hurdles, and she was named the 2016 and 2017 Conference USA female track Athlete of the year.
Her induction into the Hall of Fame has happened due to her unforgettable and historic performance at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon, where she set a record 12.12s in the semi-final. With these, she also became the first Nigerian world champion and record holder in athletics history by completing a 12.6 in the final of the 2022 world championships.
