The Global Society for Middle Belt Heritage National President, Datim, said the attack happened Saturday night.
Last night, gunmen invaded my village, Sabon Gari, in Mangu, burning six houses and destroying numerous other structures.
“We have recovered nine dead bodies, but some people are still missing,” he said.
However, Datim praised Operation Rainbow, a state security force, for responding quickly to the incident.
I admire Operation Rainbow’s quick response.
He asked the government to provide logistics for a quick reaction.
Datim replied that the villagers had decided to stay and defend their ancestral lands.
Capt. James Oya, Nigerian Army Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Spokesperson, confirmed the event.
Oya claimed Operation Commander Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar was leading troops to the attack site. (NAN)
