Manchester United defender Raphael Varane will miss this weekend’s clash against Arsenal. On Sunday, Erik ten Hag’s team travels to north London for their last game before the international break without a number of crucial players.
Summer signing Rasmus Hojlund has yet to make his debut because of a back complaint, while Luke Shaw and Mason Mount developed problems in the opening week of the season.
Due to the absence of Tom Heaton, Kobbie Mainoo, Tyrell Malacia, and Amad Diallo at the beginning of the season, veteran Varane now faces some time on the sidelines.
The club released a statement about the defender’s injury situation: “Raphael Varane will be missing from the team when Manchester United face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday due to injury.
“The France international came off at half-time in our 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday due to the complaint, which is expected to keep him out for a few weeks.”
