World Athletics: Tobi Amusan Granted Permission to Compete in Budapest

Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s superstar hurdler, has been granted permission to compete in the World Championship, which gets underway in Budapest, Hungary.

Because the athletics body had not cleared her, her hopes of competing at the Budapest 2023 World Championships were in jeopardy.

Amusan has been granted the go-ahead to represent Nigeria at the World Championship after being suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for skipping three consecutive tests.

Amusan set a world record in the women’s 100m hurdles semi-final with a time of 12.12 seconds, and she finished first in the final with a time of 12.06 seconds, making her the competitor to beat in Budapest in 2023.
